So . . . small victory today in the wee hours of 5:01 am.

After a brunt, head on hit into 3DSmax, I've been able to pump this out, with a combination of Maya modeling and UV lay out, and then final implementation of materials in 3DSmax.

This is the Minotaur right now.

At the moment, a wrench has been thrown into my career life.  A company in new York that I sent an intern application for is asking me to complete a whole, 3500 triangle scene, complete with lightmaps, light cones, ground reflection, and vertex coloring all in 3DSmax in two weeks, based on the theme of a port harbor area, a la that boat level in Modern Warfare 1.  I am very scared.  I do not know how I'm going to finish it.

AAAnd got this done admist the 3D hell.

Some odd hours strewn over 2 days.

Making progress through the "Introducing maya 2011" book.  Also beginning to make my own character model (planning for at most 10000 triangles and at the minimum get it textured).  Not a lot of 2D work in the recent days, sadly : ( .

Been crunching through Deriush Derikshani's "Introducing Maya 2011".  Above is what I did for the train tutorial.  Getting the hang of this program, and I honestly need to encounter UV texturing and texturing soon so I can push something out in full, in terms of a 3D game asset.  Probably gonna make a Steampunk Minotaur I have floating around in my sketchbook.

And managed to push this out at 5:59 am in the morning.   O.o  Inspired by a piece by Kekai Kotaki, simple black silhouettes against a white background.  Added story with the whole mother looking for her child, with the viking dude as the villain :P  Horns make people evil when they need to hahaha

"Gall of the Dohvakiin"

Finished-ish.  MIght come back to this to really crack it open, but I'd say good enough for now.

Still disappointed with my skill set :(

At the moment, hacking away at a "quick" (honestly iono how long this'll take) Skyrim fan-piece.

Recently finished this for Codename Games during an art test for their 3D Art Intern application.

Funny story about, in the span of two weeks, I apply, they chuck me the art test, I freak out (since I didn't plan on getting Maya crazy till Winter Break), do the art test more effectively than I thought I would (mind you, have not done legitimate modeling since a LONG time), and now they want me for an interview in downtown LA.

Feels weird, but hope-to-Jesus, it'll turn out ok.
